The boys and I went down to Riverfront Park to check out the river level and the ice flow. The day was warmer than it has been in a while, but still cold when the wind blew. They passed the time throwing sticks and snowballs into the river as well as digging and drilling for water beneath the ice and snow.
While we were at Riverfront Park today, Koben and Nolan watched the ice migrate from Oil City. Koben suggested that they call it Ice City instead of Oil City, at least until spring.
The boys love making seats in the snow. Koben found a large pile to sit on while Nolan got a front row seat to watch the water and ice on the street.
I picked up the boys from school and we headed outside as soon as we got home. Nolan was happy to be outside playing in the puddles, shoveling the snow and finding icebergs.
Nolan wanted to help with dinner last night. There are three options for what happened next, he stirred the mac and cheese like a good boy, he ate the mac and cheese out of the big bowl with the big spoon, or he flung cheese covered noodles everywhere. I won’t give away the ending, but I’ll say that we had a great dinner of mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing, bologna and turkey.
We had a visit from the building inspector today. He was checking out our new school house and found a few code violations. We quickly made the corrections and finished the school house….and then demolished it.
