Pirate Weekend

It was a great weekend in Pittsburgh. We started off with a tour of PNC Park on Friday night. They boys got to see the behind the scenes of PNC Park, including the Pirate’s dugout. We finished off the tour by sitting in our seats for next season. After the tour, we checked into our hotel and walk over to Market Square where we enjoyed dinner a Primanti’s. After we stuffed ourselves with Primanti sandwiches, we took a little walk around to soak up some big city Christmas. It was a warm night, a lot warmer than any other December trip we have taken to the city. It was too bad though, because the ice skating line was wrapped around the ring from one side of PPG place to the other. We will come back when it is cold and no waiting to get out on the ice. We checked into the hotel and hit the pool for an evening swim in the hot tub and cold tub.

Saturday started off with a McDonald’s breakfast and we quickly got ready to go to PirateFest. We spent all day at PirateFest, literally, all day. We started at 10am and went all the way to 6pm. We almost closed the place down. The day was filled with autographs. The boys got Stewart, Caminero, Hurdle, Polanco, Marte, Morse and Parker. Nolan got to give knuckles to Marte and Morse. A dream for him. In between the autographs, we found time to play some of the little games that they had and win some more cups and shirts that we just don’t need. Nolan got to do some hitting int he batting cages and Koben practiced some snow boarding. Again, the weather was fantastic, and we took a lunchtime walk out to Subway and enjoyed the fresh air. By the end of the day, we were all exhausted and ready to go home. Nolan slept the entire way home.
